Javier Hang & David Martín bring one of the most surprising and intimate proposals to the BIG BANG Festival. We are faced with two restless artists, with more than fifteen years of separate career and countless one-off meetings, until a couple of years ago their paths crossed again and they decided to undertake this musical adventure.
The eclectic artistic past of these two musicians is what leads their proposal “Vaivén” to be what it is: a concert that walks between flamenco, jazz, soul, world music or electronic music, whose peculiarity is the use of two unusual instruments: hangdrum (percussion) and bouzouki (strings).
Javier Hang's past as a flamenco musician and critic takes a radical turn in 2005 when he discovers the expressive capacity of hangdrum, with a peculiar sound that he manages to adapt to practically any style without losing the duende and the pinch. For his part, David Martín has spent half his life between the garage rock and surf groups, the bass of rock bands, forays into video creation or projects that are difficult to classify such as PinDoze, a kind of “organic electronic music” precisely with Javier Hang as main ally. This versatility is what allows us to be faced with mainly emotional and exciting music, in which Hangdrum is exchanged for guitar or Cajón Flamenco with Bouzuki with complete normality.
They will also perform at Music Lunch between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
