Rennes

Families looking for artistic discoveries and curious about new creations come together for this festive moment, led with fantasy and ingenuity by the artists accomplices of the Opéra de Rennes. The watchword shared by everyone is to offer a festive and convivial weekend, combining musical surprises and discovery of the building. For the occasion, the Opera House and the Town Hall will therefore be transformed into a large playground and experimentation for children and their parents under the sign of music, of course!

A production by Zonzo Compagnie in coproduction with Opéra de Rennes (Ville de Rennes) and Festival des Tombées de la Nuit - with the support of the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.

About Opéra de Rennes

At the Opéra de Rennes, the public discovers operas from the Baroque period to contemporary creation, but also concerts, world music, dance and other musical artistic forms. Each year, our opera house produces and co-produces several shows, in partnership with Angers Nantes Opéra. The Opera hosts two orchestras in residence, le Chœur de chambre Mélisme(s) and Le Banquet Céleste, engaged in various productions and has a strong partnership with the Orchestre National de Bretagne. Very engaged for making opera more accessible in Brittany and for schools and community groups, Opéra de Rennes organizes a strong education program, tours and operas on screen in live broadcast.

About the venue

Built in 1836 by Charles Millardet, the Opéra de Rennes is located in the most famous square of the city, just opposite the Town Hall. The Opera looks like an italian theater with 3 balconies and 642 seats, a rotunda overlooking the square, a public hall, a large rehearsal room, but also small unusual spaces ready to welcome curious people.
