The idea of Pianoscópio is to 'enter' the piano, explore, discover and expose it, from different visual and sonorous angles. Pianoscópio is a set of 'sonorous objects' constructed from the parts of old pianos which can be played in many different ways. Between real sounds and those electronically processed, the intent is to construct an adventure of discovery and creation that deconstructs the idea of the piano as a classical instrument, of tempered tuning, individual approach and elaborate technique. Instead, it is transformed into sculptures capable of producing complex sonorous textures from micro-sounds that can be worked individually or collectively. Pianoscópio is an installation to be seen, heard, explored freely and also as a space/tool in a workshop that aims to construct a collective musical experience that is structured, combining both improvised and pre-composed elements.
