NOMAD focuses on the cultural wealth of the contemporary city. The starting point is as simple as it is effective. A professional musician creates a musical performance or concert together with a group of children or young people. The children’s musical talents and cultural influences merge with those of the musician. The BIG BANG Festival provides a stage for the results.
In the past, Zonzo Compagnie created the sensational NOMAD projects with Meredith Monk, Iva Bittová, Phil Minton, Paul Griffiths and many others. For a new NOMAD project in Antwerp, we are focusing on the creative possibilities of ‘body percussion’. The French specialist Sophie Boucher, together with Sarah Van Impe, work with undiscovered talented percussionists of Deurne.
