Composers like to use what others have already written. This was already the case with Camille Saint-Saëns when he musically pulled several colleagues through the cocoa for a carnival concert. Yes, We CanCan, his turtles must have thought, dragging Jacques Offenbach's famous and, at the time, fastest dance in the world along in slow motion. An elephant, in turn, tries its hand at Héctor Berlioz' "Elf Dance". The big band composer Rainer Tempel has additionally emphasised and further composed Saint-Saëns' humorous music for the NDR Bigband. The agitated chickens will therefore let down even more feathers, the half-donkeys will scream even more shrilly and the kangaroos will hop even more luxuriantly through the octaves. A steep challenge for musicians and listeners alike - great fun. This is also ensured by the wonderful narrator - Peter Urban is known to most as "The Voice" of the European Song Contest.
