BIG BANG will be landing in Ghent on 17 November 2024 (*)! After wanderings through Canada, Europe and Brazil, the adventurous music festival for young audiences will once again unpack its festive mix of brass bands and pop-up acts, musical theatre performances of international stature, intimate listening rooms and interactive installations.
BIG BANG is a music festival ment to be for everyone. From the very young to the very old, from children with dancing legs to silent enjoyers, for lovers of graceful melodies and beat fanatics alike. But first and foremost, BIG BANG is for adventurers who want to be surprised by the dizzying diversity of the world of music in all its colours and forms.
It's up to you to choose the route and put together your BIG BANG of sound experiences. Dive into the programme, get inspired, embrace the music!

Suggestion tracks
This year's BIG BANG Ghent once again has a wide range of offerings. We know that it is sometimes a puzzle to put together a balanced programme in which the various performances fit together nicely.
That is why we worked out four suggestion tracks for you, each following its own theme. Easy, right?
COMBO#1: WORLD TRIP (€13)
A trip around the world in one afternoon? At BIG BANG you can!
- 14:20 - Doundoun - a compelling interplay of voice and rhythm, inspired by the adventures of Yiyi, the mischievous spider
- 16:20 - Radio Lomax - five top musicians perform a series of wondrous songs from around the world, found in the archive of musicologist Alan Lomax
- 17:00 - La Murga Armada - sax, trombone, trumpet, guitar, sousaphone, accordion and drums come together to create a festive mix of Latin and ska
COMBO#2: GOURMET (€19)
Join us for a fine-dining three-course meal!
- 12:30 - The Sound Dinner - music, sound, playfulness: you've never dined like this before ...
- 14:15 - Karakuri - welcome to Karakuri, the world where movement becomes sound
- 15:00 - unRAVELed - step by step unravel the creative world of composer Maurice Ravel and maybe you will become one of his cats
COMBO #3: SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE (€13)
This programme will keep you going all afternoon long!
- 13:30 - Dansconcert #1: Tornado - a catchy concert, a rousing dance performance and a family party all in one
- 14:20 - Doundoun - a compelling interplay of voice and rhythm, inspired by the adventures of Yiyi, the mischievous spider
- 15:50 - La Murga Armada - sax, trombone, trumpet, guitar, sousaphone, accordion and drums come together to create a festive mix of latin and ska
COMBO #4: BIG BANG MIX (€21)
No specific theme, just a programme that BIG BANG is all about: the very best music with the very best musicians:
- 13:30 - Dansconcert #1: Tornado - a catchy concert, a rousing dance performance and a family party all in one
- 15:00 - unRAVELed - step by step, the creative world of composer Maurice Ravel is unravelled and maybe you will become one of his cats
