Charleroi

PBA

In 2023 Marie Noble succeeded Pierre Bolle as director of the Palais des Beaux-Arts Charleroi. While following in her predecessor's artistic footsteps, she set about raising the institution's profile. Internationally, through bold, often multidisciplinary, productions and events that are resolutely modern in their approach. And locally, through a wide range of outreach activities aimed at young people and socially disadvantaged groups.

With the help of associate artists and renowned creators such as Patrick Leterme, Ingrid von Wantoch Rekowski and Dominique Serron, the Palais des Beaux-Arts is broadening its operatic line and opening up to new lyrical forms such as music theatre, chamber opera, concerts, augmented recitals and so on.

The Palais des Beaux-Arts is currently preparing for the opening, in 2026, of a centre for comics and graphic storytelling, devoted in particular to the cross-disciplinary nature of the visual and performing arts.
